Enter through the reserve access road (fees for reserve + site). Structure II is the headline pyramid — steep, exposed, and worth the climb in clear weather. Allow time for Stelae groups and shaded walks between plazas.

From Campeche city in one day?
Possible for determined drivers leaving before dawn, but exhausting. If you only have one day, consider Edzná instead and save Calakmul for a dedicated overnight.
